I was amused/annoyed while watching "Interview with the Vampire and Adaptation | A Video Essay," about season 1 of the recent TV series, when the creator says that her blorbo Lestat would never ( spoiler and TW )

I don't know if this summer is much worse and hotter (and often with a lot of humidity) for longer than usual or if my body just isn't dealing as well, but I have been feeling so awful, physically and emotionally, this summer. Talking about Anne Rice’s recent conversion to “writing for the Lord” led me to thinking back on my old love for the first few Vampire Chronicles books and thoughts about Louis, whom I’m still fond of even though I belonged to a subculture that wanted to be vampires and looked more toward Lestat.

Anne Rice "writing for the Lord" is annoying in that it shows that she's every bit as pompous now that she's one of the faithful, but she's been shifting beliefs in her novels for a long time now, even just from Interview With the Vampire to The Vampire Lestat.
